Manufacturer shortlisted in four categories at top business awards
One of West Yorkshire’s oldest manufacturing companies has been shortlisted in four categories at one of the region’s most prestigious business awards events.
Founded in 1875, Christeyns UK Limited focuses on the supply of detergents and providing chemicals and engineering expertise for the commercial laundry sector across the UK.
It has received the most nominations in the Telegraph & Argus Bradford Means Business Awards which takes place on July 6, at the Aagrah Midpoint, in Thornbury.
It has been nominated for the Manufacturer of the Year, Employer of the Year and Business or Technical Innovation of the Year awards and its boss, managing director Nick Garthwaite (pictured, above), is shortlisted for Business Personality of the Year.
Christeyns also manufactures chemicals for the construction sector.
The company invests heavily in its employees and four years ago introduced an apprenticeship programme.
Now it is looking towards sustainable growth and its focus is on the export market.
The Bradford Means Business Awards, to be hosted by Yorkshire Media Partners director Perry Austin-Clarke, features 30 nominations in the ten award categories, with one of the winners also receiving the Winner of Winners award for the greatest contribution to business in the district over the last 12 months.
